ENTERTAINMENT: Chelsea Clinton's Floppy Trend

You cannot turn on the TV or open a magazine this week without seeing some update on the Chelsea Clinton Wedding. Reporters are calling it the 'Wedding of the decade." and the closest thing we have to royalty. This photo came out on the cover of WWD this week along with falling on the covers of gossip mags. Chelsea covers her face as she goes for her final fitting and makes her final arrangements in upstate NY. But at Privydoll, the wedding news is old news, lets talk about that floppy hat! I wrote about a fabulous floppy beach had by Brette Sandler. I found this great hat for only $26.95 on Amazon.com !

Or how about this floppy hat from Zappos for only $34.

INSIDER INTERVIEW: Luv AJ Jewelry

As Privydolls know, jewelry can be the inspiration to put an outfit together or an after thought that is added that makes our outfits pop. Either way jewelry is just as important as the outfit itself. Just like the line itself is called, Luv AJ I came across the line and truly LUV AJ! The line is artistic, interesting and affordable. The unique line includes vintage pieces and even a budget friendly 'Under $100' section where Privydolls can find some great picks to add to our costume jewelry box. The ring pictured is her Best seller and I can see why this Fool's Gold ring AJ says, " I think people are digging the bad ass nature of the double ring and the jagged rocks." I also adore the SHOE Jewelry! What an amazing idea to dress up a regular shoe! See picture below.

Label/Company Name:
Name: Luv Aj

3 words to describe your label:
BOLD MODERN BLING

In your opinion what is next season’s trend?
Next season's accessories trend is definitely more masculine and menswear-inspired. I feel like with all these shearling boots, and dark patterned bags we're seeing for fall, the jewelry needs to be able to stand up to these heavy textures. So dark metals, heavy chains, and a hint of femininity are on the horizon for the next Luv Aj collection.

What is your inspiration for this season/line entirely?
I'm usually inspired by materials first and foremost. My favorite part of the whole jewelry making process is the hunt for the chains, and beads, and components. I shop around flea markets and gem shows to find the kinds of things that inspire me. Then I sit down at a table with all the mounds of supplies I have accumulated, and then its a game of mixing and matching and figuring out what looks right together.

What are your favorite materials to use?
The older, dirtier, and edgier, the better. I love vintage chain because it's always a bit tarnished and has this color and texture to it that you can't get from factory made chain. I am also having a love affair with Pyrite lately, it reminds me of fool's gold, and I love it's mix of dirt and bling.

Favorite place for brainstorming and day dreaming:
My backyard. We have this little outdoor firepit and couch area with twinkle lights, and I like to pour myself a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and read my giant stack of French Vogue and Numero and just think.

Female entrepreneur of the year award  should go to:
I have such mad respect for the Wildfox Couture girls. What they have done with their line of simple graphic tees is a testament to what good marketing and creativity can do for your brand. They have such an eye for styling, and are constantly collaborating with the coolest photographers, it-girl models, and the best accessories designers. They are really setting the standard for how creative lookbooks can get and how brand identity is so key to creating a strong following.

What kind of press/marketing/celeb spottings has your line received?
I've been so blessed in the press department with my line, especially with the current collection. I used to intern at Who What Wear, and the lovely ladies over there ran an entire story on Luv Aj called "Line We Love: Luv Aj" which really got the ball rolling. I was also featured on Refinery 29, Racked NY, Style Section LA, and have been featured previously in Elle Magazine, 944, and a few other publications. A lot of amazing stores are starting to pick up the line too, so Luv Aj will be all over the place pretty soon. The best way to check up on what's going on with the brand is our twitter! @LuvAjTweets

What clothing line do you think your line compliments ?
T. by Alexander Wang. The neutral palette of the clothes, and the loose and sexy silhouettes of all the tees and dresses pair perfectly with bolder pieces from Luv Aj. The bodychains always look so great with the Alex Wang racerback tanks; they compliment each other with their balance of sexiness and comfiness.

And Lastly, spill the Privy find:

You can shop the entire Luv Aj collection at www.LuvAj.com!

Beauty: Celeb new fragrances

Celebrities are no stranger to the fragrance world but two big names have been reported launching their first fragrance in the fall. Katy Perry is to launch a perfume, Purr at Nordstrom in the fall which she dreams of one day being the next Elizabeth Taylor. Lady Gaga also has been reported this week to be launching  a fragrance. Maybe to be called? Lil Monsters- just my guess. Look for both fragrances in the fall just in time for holiday shopping !

Fashion Radar: Cargo Calling

As fall fashion hits the floors at boutiques and stores already Privydolls have seen a trend that is a great street style- Cargo Pants. These are not your baggy cargo pants you wore years ago, these are modern, skinny and fitted. Many designers have silhouettes but I also found some great finds on a budget! When shopping for your fall cargo pants keep in mind pockets. Make sure they don't stick out too far that will give you a little extra poof that you don't need. Also zippers and straight leg styles are still in.
Cargo Jeans found on Shopbop.com are a splurge find for $330 which have been seen on celebrities.
What another great skinny jean military-inspired jean by JBrand found on Shopbop for $231.
Check out these fab cargo pants in a military color from Mandee for only $29! What a steal!

PrivyDoll: 3 words to describe your company:
Trendy, chic, versatile

PrivyDoll: What is your inspiration for this season/line entirely?
I feel that this season’s inspiration as a whole is versatility.  Many of the pieces that we have are able to be worn in countless different ways, giving our customers the opportunity to wear the clothing and accessories to seem as though they haven’t worn the same thing more than once.

PrivyDoll:What are your favorite materials to use?
Since Israel is a warm country designers tend to use cotton jersey materials. Fabrics are so soft that you don’t want to take it off especially those warm summer days.

PrivyDoll: Favorite place for brainstorming and day dreaming:
The best place that I find for brainstorming is walking around city streets Chicago, New York ,Tel Aviv seeing what women are wearing to get ideas as to how to style certain looks and what I should be looking out for when choosing my products to be sold.

PrivyDoll: Female entrepreneur of the year award should go to: Lady Gaga

PrivyDoll: As many Privy Dolls know, Chicago is often lacking from the fashion world’s radar. What kind of ideas or actions is Tel Aviv doing to bring more attention to Chicago’s fashionistas?
Tel Aviv Couture is constantly coming up with unique events that are differing from many other events held in the Chicagoland area.  Tel Aviv is also offering the women of Chicago with clothing and accessories that are different from many other brands, the products are unique and trendy and many of the pieces exclusively available at Tel Aviv Couture.

PrivyDoll: What kind of press/marketing/celeb spottings has your company received?
Tel Aviv Couture has received press through the multiple events, which have included fashion shows, and special events held in our showroom, that we have hosted. We were featured in Chicago Magazine, CS, ABC news, Chicago NOW, Style Chicago and more. The company was also a part of World Fashion Chicago in 2008 and 2009. Linda Yu was wearing one of our designers Lia, at theWorld Fashion Chicago 2009.

PrivyDoll: If you could dress any celebrity at the moment who would it be?
If I could dress any celebrity at the moment I think it would be Jennifer Aniston. She has style that represents what Tel Aviv Couture is all about, trendy that still has that classic feel to it, and is always making a statement with whatever she wears.  I would also love to dress Madonna.

And Lastly, spill the Privy find:  (where can we find, buy and follow you and your line)

Fashion Radar:Material Girl to Launch

She has a lot of nicknames, but Madonna's 80's hit, Material Girl is iconic. She has been touring NY with her daughter, Lourdes for her new fashion line for teens sold exclusively at Macy's in August. The line will be a fashion-forward budget line with items from $12-40 for the young fashionistas budgets. Lourdes is a huge inspiration for the line and has been very vocal about trends where she recently has been blogging about what she is 'so over.' Madonna quoted that Lourdes is extremely trendy and watches what is going on in the fashion world. I have a feeling this line will do extremely well, but then again I am just excited the material girl herself is going back to the drawing board since her last exclusive collection she did for H&M.
