Pick up Shape Magazine's January issue out on stands today! They unveil the top jeans for each body type. Whether you are curvy or athletic the best jean secret is out! I adore the great finds in this month's issue and PrivyDoll got a sneak peak behind the finds. Here are a few of the secrets leaked out to finding the best jeans for your body type. So hit the holiday appetizers, meal and desserts because the trick to look slim is to find a pair of jeans that make you look slimmer. That is my personal advice! Here are a few hints for each body type by Shape Magazine.

Athletic- Many women with athletic figures tend to have muscular calves and thighs, making them self conscious of this area.

Tip: A denim with a slim-to-the-knee fit and deep indigo wash have a streamlining effect on the thighs, while a wide leg opening and longer hemline create the illusion of narrow calves. A medium-rise and curved waistband will give you a sleek and slimming look from torso to toe.

Curvy- Curvy women tend to have difficulty finding jeans that are a perfect mold to their body—either they fit in the waist but not the butt, or vice versa.

Tip: An all-over dark wash shaves inches off of the lower body and a higher rise offsets fuller hips. A jean with rear pockets that are placed close together and angled inward slightly will make the booty appear smaller too.

Petite- Finding a good pair of jeans when you are 5’2” and have an hourglass shape is difficult for many petite women.

Tip: A midrise jean rests at the perfect spot on the waistline for petites, just between the natural waist and hip bone. Vertical fading down the center of the thighs visually elongates the frame, giving you a sleeker silhouette. Large back pockets can also make a curvy butt look smaller by comparison.
