Entertainment: Fashion Focus Chicago Recap

On Tuesday, October 19th Macy presented Chicago's Fashion Focus Spring 2011 Preview show. Thirteen designers showcased mini previews of their upcoming lines for 400 VIPs in Millennium Park. The white tent set up right in the middle of the park was an extravagant set up for Chicago and was extremely impressed by production as we sipped on cocktails by Ciroc. All the fashion scenesters arrived in Chicago. Over 400 VIP and media had seats inside the tent. This was just the first of the week's shows to round up Fashion Focus Chicago 2010. Events also included fundraising shows for charities, shopping pop up stores and presentations of accessories and even a vintage shopping experience. PrivyDoll was apart of the media for the Fashion Incubator show on Tuesday.

Designs by Kristin Hassan included retro polka dot inspired dresses and ruffles which was one of my favorite collections of the night with exaggerated headbands which I saw as a Spring 2011 trend.

The one lingerie designer of the evening, Dottie's Delight showed vintage styled yet modern pieces. The pinks and champagne colors were adorable and the 'special occasion' stylings included girdles, garters and mad men top hats. This piece was the Champagne silk bra with brown antique lace and matching 9-panel girdle.
A men's line that stood out in the night was Nonnie Threads. A meanswear line that seemed 'uniform' ish with muted colors and a military feel. The remix of "Acapalla" by Kelis played and the men strutted the runway with jackets, slim pants.

Anna Hovet brought back the fun in athletic wear. the jersey cuts in the entire collection were so wearable and very mixable. I call this 'spandex for the street'. My favorite piece was a pair of black leggings that had a braid swirling down the leg. MUST HAVE. Big hipster eyeglasses were on each model and the line looked so fresh and unique.
